Delight Ministries & For The Girl— Where I Find My Favorite Christian Resources

My freshman year of college, I joined a group called Delight Ministries, which gives girls a “Jesus option” on college campuses across the nation through their Bible studies. I was drawn to their table at the club fair because everything was extremely pink, literally. They even had a pink tie-dye table cloth. Additionally, the leaders were so genuine and had a unique passion for the ministry that made me want to join. Now, going into my junior year of college, I am still in Delight and manage the social media for my chapter. I absolutely recommend Delight to girls who are searching for an authentic, vulnerable and Christ-centered community. If you are interested in finding a Delight chapter near you, click here!

Delight is based in Nashville, TN and has a sister organization called For The Girl, which primarily focuses on providing Christian resources to girls in their teens and early adulthood. When using these resources, I feel more motivated to read my Bible and pray than when I go into my quiet time without a plan.

The Tent

The Tent is an online subscription through the For The Girl website that is designed to help navigate and organize your time with Jesus. Each month, new content is released including a study focal point, a printable scripture study packet, a monthly challenge, guided prayers and additional resource recommendations including books, podcasts and worship songs. There is even a community aspect including a prayer request forum and two opportunities to meet online for a Bible study, often hosted by Mac & Kenz— the co-founders! There are a few things I absolutely love about The Tent starting with pushing me to read and understand books of the Bible I sometimes forget about. I also love the additional resources because it introduces me to new pastors and authors. I found some of my favorite Christian books because of The Tent.

For The Girl Podcast

This podcast is what inspired the name of the For The Girl organization because of how each podcast is addressed— “For The Girl Walking in Fear…” or “For The Girl Who Needs a KICK IN THE BUTT to Get in the Word!”… Mac & Kenz are the hosts and have such vibrant personalities. It feels like you are sitting alongside them while listening. I love this podcast because certain episodes feel like they are speaking to me and really help me fine tune my faith, especially because it exposes blind spots I may not see in myself.

Prayer Pad

Aside from the scripture study books, this is my favorite tangible resource they offer. I love to write down my prayers in a notebook at the end of the day, so I can see how my prayers are answered over time. It’s really cool actually, and I highly recommend it. Even though I also say prayers in my head throughout the day, it’s hard to remember everything I want to or have committed to praying for by the time I go to write about it. I love flipping open my prayer pad in the morning and leaving it open to use throughout the day. It’s definitely not a substitute to prayer, but it keeps me accountable and organized in my prayer life.
